SOAR relies on your donations to provide proper care for the animals in our charge.   

Donations help rescue and rehabilitate birds who have been neglected or abused.  All of our birds are vetted as soon as we bring them in. Some may have broken wings, toes, poor nutrition, and severe behavioral issues.  We provide any vet care they require and then begin the rehabilitation process.

Veterinarian bills can range anywhere from 300.00 to 4,000.00 dollars.  SOAR is responsible for all vet care costs. Not only do we cover physical ailments, but also quarantine and test the birds for avian and zoonotic diseases. 

Psittacosis is a disease that can spread to people.  Other diseases such as Beak and Feather disease can spread quickly to other birds in the home.  The cost for the blood panel work is 300.00 per bird.

Your donation helps to provide quality, balanced nutrition to the parrots as well as meet any expensive vet care costs.  Birds require fruits, vegetables, and well-balanced pellets to meet their daily nutritional requirements.  EACH bird costs approximately 55 dollars a month to feed.
